Five Element Acupuncture
Five-Element Acupuncture is one of the oldest forms of medicine originating around 2000 years ago in China. The practice of Five-Element Acupuncture has been passed down primarily from master to apprentice in an oral traditional that has survived to this day.
The Chinese observed that everything in the universe (including us) is made of the five elements; wood, fire, water, earth and metal. These elements must be in balance in order for us to be well. However life isn't easy and it is normal for us to move in and out of balance, resulting in periods of our feeling well and unwell or presenting symptoms.
It is also understood by acupuncture practitioners that physical symptoms are often the result of emotional or spiritual distress. Therefore simply treating a symptom will not ultimately result in a patient returning to good health. Instead we aim to find the root cause of the symptom that is being experienced and help to resolve it.
